Mix Contest Italy Tour, the most famous bartender battle in Italy, changes format and transforms into a competition worth tasting.
The next stop will be in Parma on Tuesday 19 February 2019.
WHAT IS MIX CONTEST
Mix Contest was born as a small city event around the world of mixology, a battle between Turin bartenders who for one evening would have to abandon the counter of their cocktail bar to compete in front of an audience of ordinary people and experts in the sector. In what? In creating two cocktails, a pre-dinner (an aperitif cocktail) and a after dinner (a cocktail, as the word itself suggests, after dinner).
It didn't take long for the event to gather enthusiastic approval from all the participants, who finally saw the spotlight the age-old art of bartending and its protagonists.
So Lalla Carello, creator and organizer of the format together with the To Be agency, had an idea: expand the competition to bartenders from all over Italy, with a tour that ran along the Peninsula touching the cities historically most suited to mixing.
Today Mix Contest is no longer a static event but a real tour that has already touched the main Italian cities during 2018 - and will touch in 2019 in high-impact locations: the hotels of the prestigious Spanish NH Hotels chain.
The format is called Mix Contest Italy Tour and left Turin on 23 July 2018.
MIX CONTEST ITALY TOUR
The format of the Mix Contest Italy Tour is as follows: in each city covered by the schedule, 10 cocktail bars, represented by their bartender or their reference barlady, meet in one of the locations made available by NH Hotels to prepare two cocktails – a pre-dinner and an after-dinnerr – which are served to the participating public e subjected to the judgment of a composed technical jury by experts and professionals in the sector. At the end of each event, the public votes are added to the votes of the technical jury and two city winners are decreed.
At the end of the tour, in a location still shrouded in mystery, the winners of each stage will compete with the same rules in the Final of Mix Contest Italy Tour. to win the title of best Cocktail Bar in Italy MT Magazine.
Starting from the next date, i.e. that of Parma on Tuesday 19 February 2019, the format will include an entry ticket at the promotional price of €20.00 (by purchasing the ticket online; the price on site will be €25.00) thanks to which the public will be able to taste 1 cocktail for each cocktail bar, for a total of 10 drinks. Each guest will be given a token upon entry with which they can, at the end of the evening, vote for their favorite cocktail bar.
MIX CONTEST ITALY TOUR – PARMA
The next city that will host the Mix Contest Italy Tour will be Parma, which in the futuristic NH Parma, a few steps from the center, will see 10 cocktail bars compete to win two passes to the national final in February 2019.
